The Springflex SD is a lightweight coated-fabric duct hose with a spring steel wire helix, designed for low-pressure air movement where portability matters. The flame-retardant coating makes it a safer choice for ventilation in confined spaces, event setups, and construction sites where ignition sources may be present. Compresses down for transport and deploys quickly on the job.
Where the SD Fits
This hose is built for air handling and ventilation applications that need to be moved, set up, and broken down repeatedly. Common uses include event tent HVAC, temporary ventilation on construction and remodel projects, and general low-pressure duct runs where a flexible, flame-retardant hose is required.
Compared to the SD-W
The SD is the standard version. If you need added abrasion protection for drag-along use, the Springflex SD-W adds a wearstrip to the outside.
Choosing the Right Size
Match the inside diameter of the hose to the outlet on your fan, blower, or HVAC unit. Common ventilation setups run 8", 12", or 16" ID, but confined space and event setups often need smaller 6"-8" runs. On length, order slightly longer than the straight-line distance to account for bends, sag, and flex at connection points. If you are running multiple lengths together, plan for clamp and cuff connections at each joint.
