Heavy-Duty Silicone-Coated Fiberglass Hose for High-Temperature Air Handling
The Heat-Flex BDS is a single-ply iron oxide red silicone-coated fiberglass fabric hose, reinforced with a spring steel wire helix and an external filament fiberglass cord. The added cord reinforcement gives the BDS the structural stability for tight bend radii while keeping airflow smooth, plus the durability for high-temperature air handling that lighter silicone hoses cannot match. Available up to 10" inside diameter. Resistant to many oils, solvents, ozone, water, fungus, and alkalis. Not recommended for continuous flexing.
Where the Heat-Flex BDS Fits
This hose is the right choice for high-temperature air handling in automotive brake ducting, drying systems, dry cleaning, paper and textile process air, fume ventilation, manufacturing, plastic processing, and construction air handling. The narrow pitch and external cord make it the better option when the run requires tight bends without kinking.
Compared to the Rest of the Heat-Flex Line
The BDS is the heavy-duty silicone fiberglass option with extra cord reinforcement. For longer-length runs in lighter-duty service, step down to the Heat-Flex CWGS (same construction, no external cord). For broader high-temperature service, the Heat-Flex GS is the general-service option.
